I would like on behalf of the faculty and students of THS to invite parents to conferences on Thursday, October 18. Parent/teacher conferences present an opportunity for parents to visit the building and meet their student’s teachers. Traditionally the High School has the fewest parents attending these conferences, I would like that tradition to change. This is a district wide event and we would like to have visitors at the high school.
Parent/teacher conferences are an opportunity for parents and teachers to meet and talk about one of the most important assets that the share, the community’s children. The face to face meetings and conversations are beneficial to both parents and teachers. There are no appointments needed and it is run in an open format where teachers make themselves available to parents. Stop in and run your student’s schedule, walk the halls, talk to the teachers and enjoy an evening back in high school.
In this year’s Parent/teacher conference we have teamed up with NCMC to provide a session on the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid). The session will begin with an informational meeting at 5 pm in the Media Center. This informational session will be followed by a work session from 6 to 8 pm where you will be giving an opportunity to actually fill out the online FAFSA application with some guidance form the presenters. In order to fully participate and complete the FAFSA you will need to bring your 2017 tax returns and W-2’s.
I invite you to come to the high school and meet the faculty of THS on Thursday, October 18 when we hold our parent teacher conferences. Trenton High School will release classes early on Thursday, October 18, (1:07p.m.) We then host the Parent/Teacher Conferences on the same day-Thursday, October 18 from 2:00-7:00 p.m. No appointment is necessary and parents may pick up their students’ 1st quarter grade report card in the high school office. Grade cards that are not picked up at conferences will be mailed out the following Tuesday, October 23.
Again as the building principal at the high school I would like to take this opportunity to invite you to visit Trenton High School for Parent/Teacher conferences on Thursday, October 18. The entire faculty at THS is made up of teachers that are dedicated professionals that work diligently to fulfill the district mission to prepare students to be capable, contributing, caring participates in an ever-changing world.
